Diversity, equity & inclusion
The commitment
Section titled “The commitment”In fulfilling its mission, KSI Montenegro states that it is dedicated to creating systems that value the unique contributions of all students and staff, and to fully engaging all members of the school community in achieving its vision.
The school commits to explicitly embedding diversity, equity and inclusion in its organisational and learning culture. The Head of School, with the support of the Senior Leadership Team, is responsible for ensuring that the school culture embodies practices honouring and demonstrating diversity, equity and inclusion.
These values are supported by The United Nations Declaration of Human Rights and The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. KSIM also subscribes to the tenets of the European Union and Montenegro Diversity Charters.
What the three words mean here
Section titled “What the three words mean here”Diversity — the representation of different and unique identities, characteristics, experiences and perspectives.
Equity — giving everyone what they need to succeed by increasing access, resources and opportunities for all, especially for those who are underrepresented and have been historically disadvantaged.
Inclusion — a welcoming culture in which differences are celebrated and everyone is valued, respected, and able to reach their full potential.
The school’s stated view is that bringing together different points of view and experiences prepares students and the wider community for life in a global society, broadens perspectives, and contributes to academic excellence.

Section titled “What diversity includes”Diversity at KSIM includes, but is not limited to: heritage, ethnicity, language, gender, gender identity and expression, spiritual beliefs, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, identity and expression, age, socio-economic status, learning styles, personal perspectives and abilities.
