First-week checklist

Before the first day

• Uniform ordered. Every student has a set number of uniform credits included in the school fees. Order early — items sell out. → Ordering uniform
• Uniform labelled. Every item must carry your child’s name. → Uniform & dress code
• Dietary Requirements Form completed with the School Nurse, if your child has a food allergy or a special dietary need. If the allergy is severe, call or visit the nurse. → Canteen & dietary requirements
• Guardianship paperwork submitted, if your child will live in Montenegro without a parent present, or if anyone other than you has legal duty of care. → Guardianship · Independent living
• Language profile information provided as part of admissions — mother tongue, other languages, and the additional language your child will learn. → Language profiles
• Walk-home consent signed, if your child is in Years 4 to 6 and will leave school independently. This needs written, signed parental consent. → Dismissal

Pack for day one

• Refillable plastic or metal water bottle
• School bag for books and supplies
• Indoor shoes — one dark solid colour, Early Years and PYP
• Outdoor shoes or boots for cold and wet weather
• PE kit, if PE is scheduled
• Early Years only: a spare set of clothes

→ What to bring each day

Know before you go

• Arrival window: between 07:40 and 07:55. Registration is at 07:55. → Arrival
• Where your child goes on arrival — playground, homeroom, or DP Exchange, depending on their programme. → Arrival
• Pick-up time: 14:30, or 13:35 on Wednesdays. After-school activities run to 15:30. → Dismissal
• Phone rule: switched off, in a bag or locker, all day. → Phone-free school
• Who to contact first: your child’s class or homeroom teacher. → Who to contact for what
• How to report an absence: call the school in advance so the School Nurse and the teacher both know. A doctor’s note is needed for any absence over two consecutive days. → Attendance & punctuality

In the first few weeks

• Choose after-school activities. The ECA programme runs for around 12 to 14 weeks, twice a year, with different activities for different year groups. → Extra-curricular activities
