What happens
Section titled “What happens”KSIM Discovery Week extends the curriculum beyond the walls of the classroom while providing unique, inspirational and challenging situations. Students realise personal growth as they strengthen friendships, develop team and leadership skills, and experience independence and responsibility.
All activities are designed to help students become aware of, and accept, their responsibilities while celebrating their rights as global citizens.
The three types of experience
Section titled “The three types of experience”Students take part in a combination of all three:
Global studies — students deepen their understanding of the world through a focused, curriculum-related area of inquiry.
Eco-adventure — students learn and develop physically, emotionally and intellectually while being fully immersed in the natural environment.
Service learning — students learn and develop through active contribution in thoughtfully prepared service that meets the needs of a community.
