Dismissal & leaving early

In short

School ends at 14:30, or 13:35 on Wednesdays. PYP students are escorted to the front of the school and handed to a parent or guardian. MYP and DP students may leave independently. Anyone leaving before the end of the day must be approved and must sign out at the front office.

Normal dismissal

PYPPrimary Years Programme — Nursery through Year 6. — Nursery to Year 6. PYP staff escort students to the front of the school at 14:30 and hand them to parents and guardians, so that dismissal is safe.

MYPMiddle Years Programme — Year 7 through Year 11. and DPDiploma Programme — Years 12 and 13. — Years 7 to 13. Students may leave school independently at 14:30, or 13:35 on Wednesdays.

After-school activities run from 14:40 to 15:30 on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. See extra-curricular activities.

Walking home alone

PYP students in Years 4 to 6 only may leave independently, and only with written and signed parental consent. The form is the Liability Release Form: Permission to Walk Home Alone — ask the school office for it.

Students in Nursery to Year 3 are always handed to a parent or guardian.

Leaving before the end of the day

Students who leave school before the regular dismissal time — because of illness or for any other reason — must have permission from the school or a parent. The request has to be approved by the Head of School, the Curriculum Coordinator, or the School Nurse.

All students leaving before the end of the school day must sign out at the front office.

Students in Years 12 and 13 who leave campus during free periods follow a separate rule — see off-campus privileges.
