Trial day

In short

Your child can spend a full day at KSI free of charge, to see what the school is like from the inside. It is optional, it comes after your tour and application, and it is available from age 5 — we do not run trial days for children under 5.

Who it is for

Trial days are available for children aged 5 and over.

If your child is under 5, a tour is the way to see the school — you are welcome to bring your child along to it. See joining KSIM.

What it costs

Nothing. The trial day is free.

What happens on the day

Your child joins a class for a normal school day and takes part as any student would. The point is an ordinary day rather than a staged one, so they get a real sense of the lessons, the other children, and how the day is shaped.

It helps to read these first, so your child knows what to expect:

• The school day — arrival, break, lunch, and when the day ends
• What to bring each day — water bottle, school bag, shoes
• Phone-free school — phones stay switched off and away

Your child does not need KSI uniform for a trial day. Comfortable, school-appropriate clothes are fine, and something suitable for outdoors — break and lunch are outside whenever the weather allows.

Where it fits

A trial day comes after your tour and application, alongside or following the meeting with the Head of Student Support. It is the last step rather than the first, so that your child arrives already knowing a little about the school.
